Princely visit and Consular Meeting in Toronto

On November 2, 2011, TT.SS.HH. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène of Monaco inaugurated the exhibition “Grace Kelly: From Movie Star to Princess”, at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto. A reception was then offered to nearly 300 personalities of the city, notably in the presence of Mr. Dwight Duncan, Vice-Prime Minister of the Province of Ontario. The exhibition, which recorded more than 5000 visitors in its first opening week, is opened to the public until January 22, 2012.

The following day, Ambassador Gilles Noghès joined the Consular Corps of Monaco in Canada, Mr. Jean-Claude Bachand, Esq, Honorary Consul General in Montreal, Mr. Bernard Lette, Esq. Consul General in Toronto and Mr. Jacques Becker, Honorary Consul in Vancouver. It was the first time that the three Consuls, separated from east to west by nearly 3.500 km were able to meet. Mr. Lorenzo Ravano, Embassy Counselor, joined the meeting. A useful exchange of information between the Embassy and the Consular Corps in Canada took place. Mr. Bachand, Esq. presented the activities of the Canadian branch of the Prince Albert II Foundation for which he is the Chairman and evoked the Quebec’s vast program named “Le Plan Nord”.
