Visit of TT.SS.HH. the Sovereign Prince and Princess Charlene of Monaco to the 84th Academy Awards ceremony
On February 26, 2012, TT.SS.HH. the Sovereign Prince and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the 84th Academy Awards ceremony organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles. The Princely couple was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Iiger, President and CEO of The Walt Disney Co’s which DisneyNature’s division cooperates with the Prince Albert II Foundation to protect the environment through the production of films and documentaries. TT.SS.HH. also attended the launch of the Montblanc Collection which was named after Princess Grace. Montblanc contributes generously to the Princess Grace Foundation in favor of young American artists in the fields of dance, theater and film. The presence of the Prince and Princess of Monaco at the Oscars has been largely commented on by the International and American Press.
Responding to questions from journalists covering the event, Prince Albert II invoked the memory of Princess Grace, His Mother, whose film career was crowned by an Oscar for her role in the movie "Country Girl" that was shot in 1954.
