Annual reception of the Embassy of Monaco in Washington D.C. (July, 2010)


The Embassy of Monaco celebrates the anniversary of the accession of H.S.H. Prince Albert II with the participation of the Monaco Boys Choir.

In the presence of His Excellency Monsignor Bernard Barsi, Archbishop of Monaco, the Embassy of Monaco in Washington D.C. celebrated the anniversary of the accession to the throne of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco, on July 13, 2010 with a performance of the Monaco Boys Choir, who is currently on tour in the United States. More than 300 American personalities gathered at the Red Lounge of the Metropolitan Club in Washington D.C., including representatives from the White House, the Government (the Departments of State, the Treasury, the Interior, and Education) and Congress (with the presence of several Members of the House of Representatives and Senators).

Masterfully directed by Mr. Pierre Debat, les Petits Chanteurs de Monaco (Monaco Boys Choir) performed national anthems from both America and Monaco, then “Piamu u frescu” and “America the Beautiful.”

They were warmly applauded by the guests of Ambassador and Mrs. Gilles Noghès, and also by such notable guests as Mr. J.B. Kelly, President of the Prince Albert II Foundation (USA), various members of the Kelly family, His Imperial Highness Prince Reza Pahlavi, Mr. James Kimsey, founder of America Online (AOL) and great philanthropist, the astronaut Buzz Aldrin, as well as the members of the Diplomatic Corps and representatives of various financial, cultural, scientific, and humanitarian sectors.

Mr. Michel Bouquier, Chief of Tourism for Monaco, Mrs. Maguy Maccario-Doyle, Consul General of Monaco in New York, and members of Honorary Consulates of Monaco throughout the United States who came from Boston, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, and Atlanta. Mr. Bernard Lette, Honorary Consul General of Monaco in Toronto was also present.

They also attended the annual Consular Meeting which was held the following day. Mr. Lorenzo Ravano, Counselor, and the Embassy staff contributed to the success of these events.
